SSO needs a user profile to store something in the registry.
do NOT config the SSO service as system or any internal account.

SSO is a prerequisite to BizTalk Server. It is not only a way to map
credentials between backend systems but also provides BizTalk Server with a
very secure storage for sensitive data.

Kind regards,

Are you sure it is available for exclusion during setup? Don't see
immediately why this was done... MS, anyone?

SSO is in the tree for an SSO-only install. If you uncheck it, you still
get the service with the runtime.
