| I am having problems starting up the biztalk application on a win2k3 box. the error message I get is as follows:
The SSO service failed to start.
Error Code: 0xC0002A18, The format of the account name is not valid. Domain accounts must include the domain name. Local accounts must not include a domain or computer name.
Any ideas on how I can change this? | |

| I have the same or related problem:
I am trying to build the Master Secret Server (required by BizTalk 2004) on a Windows server cluster.
I install the SSO service and SSO admin tools (only) on a Windows server cluster. This succeeds, and the SSO service does start, and appears to run well (on a single on-clustered server).
However, when I create a Generic Service resource (so the cluster can control the SSO service) and check "Use Network Name for Computer Name" as required, I get the same error you report.
This applies with Windows Server 2003, with Windows 2000 Server SP4 upgraded to Windows 2003 Server, and with Windows 2000 Server SP4 plus pre-requisites...
If you have any ideas please let me know. Equally, if you still have a problem let me know, maybe I can help. I've been working on this several days!

| The sso service account must be a cluster admin. I think this is in the
docs but I don't have a link handy...

| Hopefully you have this resolved by now. The error message is pretty
spot-on...what is the user you entered? If it's a domain user, prefix it
with netbios name of your domain. If local, no prefix.
