Installing Biztalk 2004 on MS Cluster
|

| Hi,
I have installed biztalk 2000 on Microsoft Cluster Service,
with that experience I tried to install Biztalk 2004 on
Microsoft Cluster.
After installing biztalk 2004 in both the nodes of the
cluster i tried to add the Virtual Host in the Biztalk
server group, but unlike BTS 2000 it just gives me a
choice of choosing one of any two physical nodes. I am not
finding the virtual host name there.
Could some one help me with this.
Any documents or links regarding installation of BTS 2004
on MSCS will be very helpful.
Thank You.
Abdul Rahman.

| Per the readme:
Clustering host instances is not supported
BizTalk Server 2004 is in an active-active configuration by design, without
clustering. All servers are able to receive, process, and send messages.

| Your response is a little confusing. Does this mean that BizTalk 2004 cannot be used in a Windows 2003 cluster or can it be clustered but both nodes are always Active-Active??

| It cannot be used...it is not supported. There is no reason also for this
with the changes to 2004.

| What we have done is install SQL Server on the cluster and then installed
BTS 2004 individually on each node of the cluster, pointing to the
"clustered" SQL instance.
