Hi All,

I am having a problem when I run the Microsoft BizTalk Server 2004
Configuration Wizard. The error reads as follows:

-------------------------------------------
"Failed to deploy BizTalk system assembly "E:\program files\ Microsoft
BizTalk Server 2004\Microsoft.BizTalk.GlobalPropertySchemas.dll".
Unspecified exception: The event log file is full

The event log file is full

(buttons: Retry, Cancel)
-------------------------------------------

Has anyone experienced this error (and knows how to solve it)? Or if
someone could point me to a thread that I missed that discusses this, please
let me know. Any suggestions appreciated!

Thanks,

Well, I think your event log is full :-)

To fix this issue, Click Start->Run ...
In the window that appears, type "eventvwr.msc" (without the double quotes) and click OK,
You will see the event log firing up. Right click on "Application" in the left and select "Clear"
You will be prompted for a backup before clearing: backup if required.
Repeat the Clearing process for System and Security.
I suggest you backup the security log at least.

That should take acre of the event log file full.

However, there may be another problem that is hidden by the fact that BizTalk cannot write something to the event log.

Thanks.
-GIlles.

GIlles,

I'm experiencing the same problem. My event log is NOT full and I have cleared them many times! Could you please elaborate on the "other" hidden problem? What is the solution?

Thanks,
Jack

Side questions:

Why would you need to install both MSXML 3.0 SP4 and MSXML 4.0 sp2? Isn't the later a replacement and improved version of the former?

Where can I get "Microsoft Office Web Controls 10"? Is it absolutely required?

Thanks again!

Firstly check that the event log is empty on both the
deployment machine and the target machine.

Make sure that the account you are deploying with has
local administration rights on the target machine.

Ensure the DTC is properly configured on both the
deployment machine and the target machine.

Finally you need both versions of XML because Biztalk
make use of legacy features in these COM components!!.

You need the Office component if you want to use
the 'Health and Activity' monitor as it make use of these
in order to display some its grids.

Hope this helps.

Regards

Stuart
