Biztalk 2004 Install failure on Win 2K3 during SSO Install
|
|
|
| Error Message:
"The following platform components failed to install and
will need to be manually installed before setup can
proceed: Enterprise Single Sign-On Server, Enterprise
Single Sign-On Administration Return Code: 1"
This installation is being done on a Win2K3 Enterprise Server. All prerequisites are installed, except that this is a production Biztalk deployment server, and we do not want to install any IDE components like Visual Studio etc. (though I dont think that
is the error we are getting here)
Any help would be greatly appreciated

| What happens if you run sso setup from the cd? It's in
platform\sso\sso.msi. It should display a more helpful error message.
Also check eventvwr after the failure.

| Paul,
That did the trick. It showed us that COM+ and DTC were not started. Once that happened, the SSO install and Biztalk install went fine.
Appreciate the assistance,
Fazal

| This should only happen on W2K3 machines.
Enable Network DTC.
Expand COM+
Right-Click “My Computer” and select “Properties”
On the MSDTC Tab select “Security Configuration”
WARNING: This change is to be applied to all machines [including SQL] and
requires a reboot.
Thanks,
MRoze
