ESS is not installing

| When I install BTS 2K4, the Enterprise Single Sign on never shows up in the
services list, and because of that, when the configuration portion of the
installation happens, it fails.
I have run the SSO.msi, with no change to the list of services.
Anyone ever seen this before?

| On configuration are you specifying SSO to run under a built-in acount? If
so, this cannot run under this account. Built-in accounts are not supported.
If not, you may want to post your failure from the config log.

| I"m having exactly the same problem with the installation. I even went as far
as tryint to remove the Service form my WinXP (which I did) but now, after
the re-installation, it doesn't evenn show up in my list of available
services.
My installation fails w/ "Unexpected error - etnterprise single sign-on
serivce could not be started (failed to log on)", well, sure it isn't even
there!
I have deinstalled and reinstallled biztalk 2004 three times already, made
sure I'm admin while installing and nothing helps.
I have to exit the installation with the same message.

| Exactly what error messages are you getting during configuration? Have a
look at your config log file in %temp% and locate the ERROR sections -
or just post the whole file..
The ENTSSO service is installed during the configframework process and
will not turn up in services (as far as I know) when you just install
SSO.msi.
And as Jack Blalock asked the OP earlier, what account are you using for
SSO ? Does this account have "Log on as service" rights?
It would be easier to help if you could post the ERROR parts of the
config log file..

| "The weirdest" thing happened when I was trying to configure BizTalk again
and to generate the error, so that I could show you. This time the software
was actually configured properly and no error was generated.
Of course, I will not mess around with the installation just to recreate the
error. I'll be installing Biztalk on another machine next week and I'm sure
I'll run into similiar problem. I'll post them then.
Thanks for you help!

| Ain`t that typical - when you try to reproduce a problem, it suddenly
works.. Been there, done that
Anyway, you`d probably have the failing config log file in your %temp%
directory with the format config(timestamp).log (I have a few of them
myself in my %temp% directory)
