Hi all,
we experienced problem on machine running Biztalk Server 2004. We cannot
enable/disable
receive locations and perform other configurations requiring access to
SSODB. (SQL server 2000
is running on another machine). Error and warning from Application Event Log
follows. The
error points to MSDTC, but I verified MSDTC is running (restart of MSDTC
didn't help) and
is configured for Network Clients. The application was running well before.
I'm not aware of
any changes on servers (all machines are running Windows Server 2003). Did
anyone experience
the same problem. I tried to google 'LookupXp' but with no success. Coud
anyone help ?
Thanks a lot.

- Make sure your host and biztalk server can ping each other
- Make sure DTC service is up and running
- Check out kbid 839187
Maybe you need to set the registry key:
SET HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\MS
DTC\TurnOffRpcSecurity = 1

Here are some more tips and make sure you don't block anything in the
firewalls on the network or locally on the servers.

DTC is not set to start automatically. Change this service and the SQL Agent
service to start automatically in Services if you haven't done so already.
