Author application to application security

My client has requested that we ensure applications authenticate themselves
to BizTalk before any communication occurs. This holds true when BizTalk
needs to initiate a communicate to an application. We'll be using web
services to communicate with BizTalk and would like to use the current
active directory infrastructure for accounts/authentication/authorization.

Does anyone have a sample where it would illustrate how to do this?

Thanks in advance.

You should be able to use SSO to do this. Take a look at the httpsso
sample included with BizTalk. The sample can be a little confusing at
first, but understand that it's just a c# application that automatically
configures BizTalk for this sample. What you really want to look at are
the ports/channels/sso things that the code configures.
