How do I map when the source schema contains nillable elements??

I have a map between schema, the destination is an updategram for SQL. The
source schema contains several elements that are nillable. The map is valid
but when I try it with an input document that contains several elements where
xsi:nil="true", I get errors. I tried changing the updategram to contain an
element that was nillable, still got an error.
