Author FTP AIC Adapter only sends files in Binary mode

I've been trying the new FTP AIC to send ASCII files to a
remote server.

It sends the files OK, but it only seems to use one
particular transfer mode (probably binary Image).

I also tried setting the transfer mode using the 'TYPE A
N' raw FTP command, which it apparently accepted OK, but
quite obviously ignored as the output file on the remote
server was still in the same format.

Any ideas on how to send a file using the FTP AIC in ASCII?
