Hi,
We have problems when retrieving data from a database on another server,
when using the SQL Adapter (using SP) on BTS2004/XP SP2 (BizTalk environment
on one machine).

We receive the following error message:

Event Type: Warning
Event Source: BizTalk Server 2004
Event Category: BizTalk Server 2004
Event ID: 5743
Date: 06.01.2005
Time: 16:15:08
User: N/A
Computer: COMPUTERNAME
Description:
The adapter failed to transmit message going to send port
"SQL://SERVERNAME/DATABASE/". It will be retransmitted after the retry
interval specified for this Send Port. Details:"Unknown Error Description ".

Have anyone experienced similar failure? How can this be solved?

Hi,

Is the other server running Windows Server 2003?

If so, i think you need to enabe distributed transacions. There's a secion
in Scott's BizTalk 2004 book "BizTalk Server 2004 Unleashed" on this.

Goto Component Services, My Computer, Properties:
Check the "Security Configuration" settings in the MSDTC tab.
I have:
Network DTC Access (Checked)
Network Administration (Checked)
Network Transacions (Checked)
Network Clients (Checked)
TIP Transactions (Unchecked)
XA Transactions (Checked)

on the SQL Server box, and the BizTalk box. (I'm not sure if this is
requires on XP).

CHeck with the book for a better explanation.

Regards,

Alan
