Performance of SAP adapter
|
|
| Dick Dijkstra 2005-09-28, 2:49 am |
| Hi,
Does somebody have anyknowledge about the performance of the Microsoft
SAP adapter for BizTalk 2004. Is this the adapter to use for
communication to SAP, or is it better to use the iWay Software SAP
Adapter?
Thanks in advance,
Dick Dijkstra

| I can't compare it to the iWay adapter, but I can say that it's pretty quick
and enables fairly transparent integration with out of the box iDocs and RFCs.
The documentation's not great, and if it hadn't been for some access to an
SAP consulting team some of the configuration would have been pretty
difficult to figure out on my own (like how to set up the URI for
communication through a Send Port into SAP, for instance). Also be aware
that the RFC referenced in the documentation is not delivered with the
default SAP configuration (or at least not the one we have), so working
through the tutorials requires some imagination and creativity.

| I've used both adapters with equal performance and each with there own set of
issues. MS purchased all Biztalk Adapters from IWAY so the point is mute.
Not sure which adapter MS will keep.
