Lost links on map - broken map - btm1023

I have a huge "CommonSchema" and many orchestrations in separate projects
have maps that map to this schema.
We recently changed the "CommonSchema" to test envelope/splitting, then
reset it back. But then when we reopen various projects, and attempt to
rebuild them, they get error:
Exception caught: the map contains a reference to a schema node that is not
valid.
When we opent he map, all links between source schema and target schema are
broke (only the links from source schema to functoids still remain).
Yet, if we do not save the .btm file, we can open it in notepad and see that
all the links are there.
Gr!!!! Ay-yay-yay! What is one to do?
My guess is that some critical change to the schema resets some flag that
then invalidates your map? I need to override this flag and tell it that
everything is still okay. We are using Source-Safe, so maybe we can recover
"CommonSchema" to a previous time.

| Did you resolve the broken link problem? Note that it not possible to set
a flag to tell the mapper that the links are valid. My suggestion is to
try to get a previous working map.
