RC Biztalk2004 error
|

| Hi,
I am using RC Biztalk2004. I am not able to deploy the
solution. It gives the following error,
error: [Microsoft.BizTalk.Deployment.DeploymentException]
Unable to deploy
early bindings.
[Microsoft.BizTalk.Deployment.Binding.BindingException]
Failed updating
binding information.
BindingException: Specified cast is not valid.
[System.InvalidCastException] Specified cast is not valid.
Has anyone any suggestions?
Regards,

| On XP, you need this Hotfix:
Note that it must be rollup #6, NOT #5.
For Windows XP: COM+ Rollup QXP6 (Q828758) (Contact Microsoft Product
Support Services (PSS) for this update; go to
http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=22841 for more information about PSS)

| Hello,
I'm having this same problem with the RTM version of BizTalk Server 2004.
When I go to deploy the EAIOrchestrations.dll assembly created following the
BT Srv tutorial, it gives me that error.
Any help is welcome. Thanks.

| Hi,
Any suggestions if it still doesn't work? (The hotfix
was installed pre-BizTalk and again this afternoon for
good measure.)
I get basically the same error message but from Visual
Studio have a little more information:
"Could not store transport type data for Primary
Transport of Send Port <port details> to config store.
Access is denied."
What is actually going on here? Where is the config
store? (Oddly enough this message comes up twice for the
same port.)
The only unusual aspect I can think of on my XP PC is
using MSDE. I and the BizTalk services user both have
local admin rights, although, at the moment I don't have
access to the BizTalk Server Admin snap-in due to domain
policies.
Regards
Tim

| OK, it is a security issue. I just changed the ports to
all "Specify Later" and it deployed happily, but
configuring the ports in BT explorer came up with the
same "Access is denied" message.
Not sure why yet ... any constructive advice would be
welcome.
