Unable to invoke rule in an Orchestration.

| I am deploying an Orchestration that is invoking a Policy. However its giving me errors:
The way I have created the Rules is as follows:
1. Created Facts using XML Schema.
2. Created Policy/rules using the Facts.
3. Currently to make the things working, I have used a simple schema. The 'Fully Qualified names' (and NOT the Namespace) of the schema was mapped to the ' Document Type' properties of the Schema's document Type Property.( I am doubting this step and have
mentioned it here in detail).
I am invoking the rules as follows:
1. Invoking the rules through the Call Rules shape.
I get the following error on runtime:
"Unable to connect to the Rule Engine Update Service. Please verify that the service is started.".
Please help ! All help appreciated.
Thanks and regards,
rnsdas

| Not to give the simplistic answer, but is your rules update windows service
in fact running?

| Hello Matt,
Actually I am not sure how to verify this.
But I would like to state the following:
1. In my Task Manager / processes: I can see Rules Engine Updat .
2. Around a week back, I was succesfully able to deploy and run the Sample example on Loan Processor.I changed the rules and I was able to see the output. In trying to make a similar application, I changed it too and hence now even the sample Loan Processo
r application is not running. But the reason it is NOT running is that I have messed around with the Case schema or something. I think that the windows rules service is running. But as I said I am not sure how to verify this . Apprecaite if you can throw s
ome light on this.
And if this is not the probelem, where do I debug?
Apprecaite your feedback in the matter.
Thanks and regards,

| Go to start/control panels/administrative tools/services
Once the app starts up, you can look for the rule update service and see if
its state is "started".
You may also want to check the event log for other errors related to the
rule service.
