What does it mean when an Activity has been "Retracted"?

I am tracing Policy Execution in the HAT.

I see that every schema I have in my vocabulary is being asserted and then
retracted. What exactly is going on here? Also, I see no other activity
other then the asserts on my .NET classes and schemas.

A fact is asserted when it is placed into the Rules Engine's memory,
and the fact is retracted when the policy is complete and the memory
is no longer required (i.e. it is removed from memory).
What other activity are you expecting to see? There are other
sections that show the condition evaluation, rule firing, etc. They
don't all show in the same section.
