Author Can't bind SQL Orchestration to Receive port.

I have created a simple orchestration using the generate exsting item wizard
to create a sql adapter.
This all work well until after deployment I created a receive port and
location.
I tried to bind this to the orchestration and the options to do this weren't
there!!!

All I have is Configuations -> Host

I don't get the Binding folder to choose the SQL Receive port or file send
port.

Any ideas?

Cheers

How did you declare the logical port within the orchestration? Send me
the project in a zip if you want me to take a look and make sure.

Thanks,

Marian

Unfortunately, due to the sensitive nature of this project, I am unable to
send you the project (its to do with HR and the boss says "No") Sorry.

Any chance you can talk me through what you mean?

Cheers.

I'll try. Did you use the port type created when you used "Add
Generated Item" feature? It is available from the orchestration added
to the project at the end of the wizard.

Thanks,

Marian

Yes,

And specified I'll always be receiving messages on this port and specify
later in the port binding option.
After this I joined the port to the receive shape which created message_1 in
the messages
This message was also used in the send port. The orchestration looks fine
and deploys with no problem.

I'm using a stored procedure when generating the sql Adapter which worked
fine.

I created a receive port and receive location, mapping the location to the
correct projects stored procedure hence it picks up the correct root element
name and target namespace.
Set the transport type to sql, the receive pipeline to XMLReceive and the
handler to biztalk.

Still no joy.

In the biztalk serve admin under orchestrations, I tried to use the wizrd to
enlist. This came up and showed no receive locations that accept documents
for the orchestration.

I am still baffled.

Thanks for you patience.

Ok,

So I've progressed a little further... I have now tried exactly the same
orchestration etc on another machine, Same spec for everything. and the bind
option appears.

It is starting to make me think that something is knackered on my machine,
but I'm not sure what.

If anyone has any ideas I would greatly appreciate it, otherwise I'll be
uninstalling biztalk and reinstalling to see if that fixes it.

Cheers.

1.) when you setup the adapter/generated items, did you specify that this
was a receive operation?
2.) Do you only have one orchestration in your project and are the ports
setup with the binding option of specify later?

Perhaps something is wrong on your machine, but it might just be a mismatch.
If you don't have any listing of ports when you go to bind your
orchestration, then BizTalk is not seeing any ports on the orchestration to
bind. Perhaps you need to regenerate the items and rebuild your
orchestration (you may have done this many times already. .

Hi,

The generated item was a receive option that is to pecify later.

I have 2 ports a receive (specify later) and a send port (file - specify
now)

I have a second identical machine with BT installed. If I connect to this
machine I can bind ports on it from my local machine so it's not a UI
problem.
If I connect to my local machine from the remote machine I can't bind ports.

I have uninstalled BT and SSO and reinstalled them both. Still no joy.

I have copied the project files to the remote machine and comiled and
deployed there. It works fine. I get the option to bind. It just doesn't
work on my local machine.

I also have microsoft working on this now, so lets see who gets a solution
first.

Help is appreciated!
