anyone using xmlspy with biztalk? wondering if xmlspy is
a good addition to biztalk or is an unnecessary
purchase? the xmlspy salesman seems to think biztalk is
pretty useless w/o xmlspy.

any comments are appreciated

thanks,
lyle

Hi,
I disagree with the salesman.
I have done many BizTalk integration projects without XMLSPY.
Though I like the xmlspy product, I don't think it is a mandatory tool for
BizTalk.

That depends what kind of documents and maps do you going to use in the
project
For a Retail projects with the XML EANUCC v 1.3 docs, Biztalk server works
in a limited scenario, if you work with a complex documents or complex maps,
that need to be manipulated o developed by hand, then you need a tool like
xmlspy (xmlspy is the best tool in the market in the xml managment), but if
you work with simple specifications or simple maps then is a unnecesary
adition to biztalk server.
Another useful thing in xmlspy is the source code generation for .net or
java, that could generate the object model from a xml specification
