Hi,

In Visual Studio, when I try to add a generated schema I get an error.

here's what I'm doing:

* RMC on Project, choose Add, Add Generated Items
* Add generated items dialog box pops up
* Select Generate Schemas under Category
* Select Generate Covast EDI Schemas under Templates
* Click Open.

Error message:
Class not registered
Looking for Object with CLSID: {E13CA679-EB94-3798-87CC-C8E527AA4-C8E527AA4A90}

Any help will be appreciated.

I'm not sure exactly what you are doing. I don't have "Generate Covast EDI Schemas" option at the Templates.
Did you install Covast EDI Accelerator or did something special in BizTalk to get it?

All EDI schemas are saved under "Program Files\Microsoft BizTalk Server 2004\EDI\Adapter\EDI Schemas" so you can get them from there.

Thanks
Tatyana

Thanks Tatyana.

I installed the Covast EDI Accelerator (for Biztalk). When I select "Generate Covast EDI...Schema" the help tip says it "Generate Biztalk Schema from EDI Database" so it looks like the schema is in the db.

I also did a search for all xsd files and the schema doesn't come up.

The X12 file initally came in an ".asc" format, it was converted and stored in dB using Covast EDI Studio and now it's supposed to be available to VS thru the "Add generate items..." menu.

Thanks

I figured it out.

The Scheme Generator assembly file was not registered when Covast was Installed. It seems a bit silly the installer didn't do this especially since it's not documented. Running Regasm/the bat file found on in the install dir fixes the problem.

For those who may run into this problem, here's the fix:

Either run the bat file located in the "Covast Install Dir\Adapter\Bin\Config" dir. Or register the ...SchemaGenerator.dll located in the "Covast Install Dir\Adapter\Bin" using regasm.
