Upgrade to Windows Server 2003
|

| I have a stager running Microsoft Windows 2000 Advanced Server with
Application Center SP2 installed. When I upgrade to Windows Server 2003
Enterprise Edition w/SP1, I get access errors in AppCenter; ie, clicking on
Applications throws "Could not load the applications. The download of the
specified resourse failed. (0x800C0008)"
I then installed the Windows Server 2003 Post-upgrade Process patch
described in the AC 2000 SP2 Release Notes (W2003SrvPostUpgrade.bat). It
throws an error saying:
"The upgrade patch cannot be installed by the Windows Installer service
because the program to be upgraded may be missing, or the upgrade patch may
update a different version of the program. Verify that the program to be
upgraded exists on your computer and that you have the correct upgrade patch.
Product: Microsoft Application Center 2000 SP2 - Update
'{CBFD6B3E-ED73-4B2F-B457-F1EF1C472B5E}' could not be installed. Error code
1642. Additional information is available in the log file."
AppCenter has the same access errors.
I then installed the QFE891330 patch. AppCenter has the same access errors.
Any help would be appreciated as this is holding up our move to Windows
Server 2003.

| Hi,
The issue is probably caused by a prior installation of Application Center
2000 SP1 and is probably able to be resolved by installing Windows Server
2003 SP1 prior to installing Application Center 2000, and then installing
Application Center 2000 SP2.
