| I will try and keep this short. Laptop user, when reconnecting to the
domain, is prompted to update the ost on laptop, or on the network. The user
chooses to keep both. There are 6 ost files in his domain user folder. After
checking settings, the use cached exchange server was not checked. I did
check this box, and was told to delete all ost files locally, and on the
server so that a new one would be created. However, when this new ost file
was created there were multiple folders that the user created that were
empty. (he creates folders for all of his sent mail to go into and has about
30 different folders). We checked settings to make sure that these folders
were marked in the outlook properties. I am afraid that since he was not
using cached exchange mode, some of the data in those folders were local to
his laptop and they were deleted! Now, I think I should just restore his
newest version of ost from the files that were deleted.
My question is...what is the best way to do this? Should I move the old ost
into the user directory, and put the same one on his laptop and then have him
log onto the domain??
Thank you in advance for any advice you can give me
