Author Request Forwarding Is Limited to 50 Active Sessions By Default

Hello,

We run a 2 member AC cluster. We are currently running a mail campaign
(400 000 emails) for one of our customers, so we expect the requests
on the servers to be unusually high today.

One of our clients has received the "502.1 - Unable to forward to host
server" error page, presumably because the number of active sessions
has reached the 50 limit.

My questions are:

1. Are there any other reasons for this error page appearing?

2. Or is it a specific problem which knowledge base article id Q281439
provides the fix for?

3. Can anyone suggest how to measure what value the number of active
sessions is currently, so I can figure out what it should be set to?

Many thanks for your assitance.

Thanks,
- Ed
