I'll admit that I don't know a lot about Application Center - I'm a
developer, not a systems person. But I have a basic question about whether
App Center would be a good fit to solve a particular problem. (We are
currently not running App Center in our environment.)

In our Windows2000 environment, developers can view the Event Logs to
diagnose problems. Apparently, in our new Windows2003 environment,
developers cannot view the Event Logs unless they have administrator rights -
which is something we avoid at all costs on the production systems.

Would App Center provide Event Log viewing capability to development staff
who do not have administrator rights? We are looking to implement App Center
in 2005 and I'm wondering if we can configure the product to solve our needs.
Thanks for your help.

Application Center's main purpose is replication/web farm
management/monitoring.
We store event log information in MSDE so you can view the events for the
entire cluster. For more info and a trial version goto
