HI There,

I am trying to use the application test center for the first time and would
like to know why this error keeps appearing when I start recording a test.

Thanks in advance for your answer

Sean

does it happen when you record a test against a machine internally on your
network or only when you record against machines outside your network?

Hi There

currently I am only trying to configure the tests to run internally on my
local machine.

What are your browser's proxy settings?

This is likely due to the authentication method set on the web server (which is probably set to windows integrated). If this is the case your options are as follows:

1) set auth method (inetmgr in iis6.0) to allow anonymous
2) set ie internet options>security>custom level>user auth. logon = anonymous login (be sure to select for zone that the web site is in)
3) record script in act
4) edit script for ea. send request to oRequest.HTTPVersion = "HTTP/1.1" (this handles keep alives)
5) add users to users object in form of 'domain\username'
6) turn web auth. method back to windows integrated
7) run script

The other option is to set web server to basic auth. and ie security to 'prompt for logon'. Record script and then you have to edit it to remove the property setting for 'basic auth.' (I haven't actually done to give all details but had found this option on a newsgroup somewhere).

Hope that helps you.
