| I have two web servers running application center with sp1 on windows
2000 sp4. Everything was fine up till last weekend. I applied the new
security patches relaesed by microsoft (on 13th april 2004) to both
servers (controller and member)and after that I saw these errors
showing up in system log of Controller ( nothing on member server)
after every 4 minutes.
Error Id is 10006 and error look like this.
DCOM got error "%%2147749891" from the computer 10.1.1.1 when
attempting to activate the server
10.1.1.1 is the IP of the private/heartbeat NIC of member/slave
server.
How can I fix this error. I had applied 5 patches:
Security Update for Windows 2000 (KB835732) Web site
Security Update for Windows 2000 (KB828741)
Security Update for Windows 2000 (KB837001) Web site
Critical Update for Internet Explorer 6 Service Pack 1 (KB831167)
Cumulative Security Update for Outlook Express 6 Service Pack 1
(KB837009)
I tried to do some research and probably its KB828741 ( RPC patch) is
the cause of this.
I have another cluster of server with same config but one change that
its running app sp2 and I dont see any errors showing up on controller
or member server.
I will appreciate if anybody can help in resolving this issue.
