Failed to receive response for URL

| hi every one,
i am new to ACT,
We have to test the our web applition
( i have used Mercury loadrunner before this project)
can any body tell
1) how to learn this tool very fast?
2) where the good documentation/tutorial avalable?
3) good examples available?
i just studied some of help file available in ACT tool.
i recorded (recording a web browsing session) mail.yahoo.com
just logged in , open the mail box, and logged out,
i set some proerties as per help available in ACT
I get the following error when i reply it :"Failed to receive response for URL"
how to solve this error.
what are all basic things i have to know before recording and reply the script?

mail.yahoo.com probably uses forms authentication
ACT will not handle forms-based authentication automatically. If your Web
application allows users to manually send names and passwords in form
elements, you will need to explicitly edit the query string or body of the
request to mimic a client-side form submission.
It’s not automatically handled by ACT. You will need to modify your script

Best thing to do is get a netmon trace to see what the web server is
expecting from your ACT script and then customize your script accordingly.
