I was wondering if anybody has any knowledge of what exactly
Synchronizing All Sites does in Application Center.

We have a cluster with 2 nodes, Windows Server 2003 SE.

After adding the 2nd node to the cluster and performing "Synchronize
Cluster" AC reports that it has attempted to transfer 1000 or more
files and there were errors transferring some of the files.

It seems to be trying to synchronize all files on the C drive,
including "pagefile.sys", rather than just the Web Sites.

Does it attempt to make the 2 servers identical in terms of files and
the registry? If so, is there any way of excluding registry entries
from synchronization?

If Automatic Synchronization is enabled after this initial run, will it
try to do the same thing each time?

Thanks in advance for any answers.

Jeremy.

Jeremy,

Check and see if this applies to your situation

891309 FIX: Application Center 2000 may try to replicate the contents of the
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=891309

Application Center should only replicate folders/files referenced in the
IIS metabase. Somewhere these folders etc are referenced in the metabase
and this is generally how it happens.
