AC COM+ Router Cluster Problem
|
|
| Rick@FTB 2006-07-26, 1:17 am |
| I've created a new AC COM+ Router cluster (two nodes) and an AC CLB
transaction cluster (two nodes) all running under Windows Server 2003. I'm
attempting to use Component Services to test a dynamically load balanced
component that is invoked on the COM+ Router cluster and then created on the
CLB transaction cluster. The component can be created on every node
successfully as a stand-alone component. If I select the 'Component supports
dynamic load balancing' option in Component Services on the COM+ Router
servers it then generates a generic
error when I attempt to start the component: 'Catalog Error - An error
occured while processing the last operation. Error code 80004005 -
Unspecified error'.
I've tried several things to no avail. It's a bit of a mystery what is
missing here - we have been using this approach with Windows 2000 AC clusters
for several years with no problems. Any ideas here on what I may be missing?
Thanks.

| George,
Yes this is Windows 2003 with SP1 installed and I have installed the 891330
hotfix.
I don't know if this related to my other problem (see App Center MMC Snap-In
Access Problem). Irregardless I don't get any feedback via the event logs
when I attempt to create a COM+ component on either of the AC COM+ Router
servers. The only useful error message is a generic 'OLE Error code 80004005
: Unspecified error.' when I
create the COM+ component. As mentioned in my previous post, we have been
using this COM+ Router method for object load balancing on AC Win 2K clusters
for several years. Still not apparent yet what we're missing here to make
this work under these new Windows Server 2003 clusters.
