I'd like to connect to some of my clients remotely to support a Plus app. I've read the help in Windows XP, and could not figure just how to do this. I went to google and got some articles, but they mention that Remote Desktop is only available in XP Pro
. Most of my clients are usnig XP Home.

Anyone have a place that explains how I could use my XP Home to connect remotely over the Internet (not dial up) to one of my client's pc that is also running XP home? Or must I upgrade to XP Pro to have this capabilty?

Many thanks for your help,
Mark

You have the remote assistance I believe in XP Home.
Look at properties of My Computer. Is there a "Remote" tab?

If so enable remote support and use that. I have only used it once so I
don't remember all the details but it was pretty straight forward.

Maybe someone will have more info on "Remote Assistance"

If not, there is the free version of www.logmein.com pretty nice solution
because it doesn't require any firewall adjustments.

I'm using Inquiero solution,... take a look at www.inquiero.com
It's not exactly cheap but it's a really good solution in order to give
assistance to your customers.
All depend on how much you think to pay and how much your customers think to
pay.....

Inquiero has also a remote control software that you can use free for 1 PC
otherwise you can pay for number of PCs that you need take over control...

Like wise, we ar eusing a 3rd party app, now called Bomgar, but
formerly called Network Streaming. It runs well, and installed a tiny
app from a web gateway device to make the connection. Allows us to
connect to any windows 9X machine & up.

With the XP home, something sticks out in my mind that you had to send
an invitation via email for remote support, but it's all a little fuzzy.

Cheers,
Christian K.

I use Citrix GotoAssist which is the more expensive solution. GotoMeeting is
cheaper and can do many of the same tricks.
