Author virtual servers on redhat Linux (httpd/named)

Hi,

I run Apache on Linux distribution Redhat 8. Httpd works ok, I can
view the info.php successfully, and can also browse the net. Now I
would like to set up several virtual directories on my machine. They
only need to be accessible from within my internal network, so I don't
need a static address. I would like to use the DNS method, since I
have only one network card. I read a lot and changed the httpd.conf
file to reflect the new virtual server, but when I restart httpd, and
I try to type the name of the server I defined (e.g. www.test.com), I
get an error message that it was not found. I also read that you have
to change your dns records, but I really don't understand what and how
I have to change this. Can anybody help me please, with a concrete
example?

Cheers,

E-Rick
