Is there a .NET platform in the works for Apache?

| I tried doing a search on the topic, but trying to search for "apache
..net" or even "apache dotnet" comes up with thousands of hits, and all
relating to URLs and e-mail addresses. =/
So, sorry if this is an old topic.
But I was wondering if there's a .NET platform being made for Apache. I
had the opportunity once to write some pages with ASP.NET, and while I
despise ASP (I'm a php guy by nature,) I LOVE .NET! The object oriented
scripting, the on-the-fly processing without having to post back to the
server, it's just great stuff! And I'd LOVE to start making C#.Net
sites (since that's closer to php than ASP.Net) but all I have access
to now in a Linux server with Apache.
So, any info on the subject? Is it even a possibility?
Thanks!
Liam

Take a look at Mono
http://www.mono-project.com/about/index.html
I have not tried it. I'm told the install is a nightmare (at least for
Slackware 9.1). But others have said it is quite good and stable. Let us know
what you think.
