I just installed apache 2.0.49 (I used to have one of the 1.3...)and I moved
over the content of my website - the index file in the htdocs is my home
page, but when I check it out online it says the "if you are seeing this
page...."

I then read up on the httpd.conf and read much of the manual, made changes
here and there, but I still have that "if" page coming up as my home page.

Urgent help and suggestions would be greatly appreciated, my site has been
down for a few hours now.

Dman,

I'm a newbie too but a ran into the same problem. Check the
DocumentRoot directive and make sure its pointing to the directory where
your site is.
