How do I use the split-logfile in apache?

I have a few virtual hosts on one machine, and currently they share
the access_log. I would like to split the logs into seperate logs by
virtual host name. I know I could log each vhost differently, but I
would like to keep one log file.

So do I pipe the file into split-logfile, or what??
