hello NG,

we have an Apache 2.0.50 running on a SuSE 9.2 system.
last friday afternoon the webserver stopped logging, although it still
answered to requests.
The webpages were still vaialable, but in /var/log/access_log no new
entries appeared.
That seemed to me very strange, so i shutted down the system.
Today i checked the filesystem, everything o.k.
I also ran rkhunter, no result.
Maybe i've been attacked ?
Is there a way to check if an apache is still safe/clean ?
How can the logging of apache stopps ?
Today, after the mentioned test, i rebooted the system without network
cable.
If i look on the webpages over localhost, apache answers, and now i
get new entries in the access_log.
Does anyone has ideas ?

Some informations:
httpd2 -v: Apache 2.0.50
httpd2 -C: core.c, prefork.c, httpd-core,, mod_so.

Thanks

Bernd
