Question concerning Apache 2.0.50
|
|
|
| I have just installed Apache 2.0.50 and everything seems to be ok.
However Apache has placed a icon in my taskbar of my screen (right
below). It is a kind of a circle with a red dot in it. When I click on
it, it tells me that "No services are installed". Is this normal or
should I do something to get a service installed? I am a complete
newbie with (apache-)servers so please keep your answer simple.
Thanks
René

That's the Apache Monitor program. It can be used to start, stop, and
restart the Apache service. You don't say what operating system you
use, but the concept of "services" only applies to Windows NT/2000/XP.
There are no services in Windows 95/98/ME. So I'm guessing that you
either run an old DOS-based OS, or the service isn't installed.
See <http://httpd.apache.org/docs-2.0/platform/windows.html>.
