IIS 5 on Win2k Error 1053 and trying to save .msc
|
|
|
| Hello. Problems with our Web server. The Web server will become
inaccessible. Idle process is > 90%.
Try restarting the WWW Pub service and I get a 1053 error because it
couldn't restart
If I try to open the iis.msc, it doesn't open
If I try to restart the server, I get asked repeatedly with a Save As...
dialog box asking to save the .msc file. When I get the dialog, I lalso get
the window, Program is not responding. End Now.
I click End Now each time it pops up. This happens at least 8 times.
This morning when this happened, I was able to get a name into the Save As
box (because the Program not Responding dialog gets in the way), and finally
the restart continued. When it came up, it was all happy again.
Any thoughts? This has happened intermittently over the last couple of
months.
Thanks
Doug

| Do you have anything related to this in the Event Log?
