Author SETI on an Apache Server

Does anyone know if the SETI@home (Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence)
program can be run on an HTTP server now running only Apache? The server
gets few hits per day and has a lot of idle time it could be doing something
worthwhile. I wouldn't want to slow down the response to those hits,
however.

Thanks.

If the software you are referring to functions like the distributed.net
client I use (I assume it does), it would run in idle priority, and thus
would not consume any CPU cycles Apache would want.

However, thinking about security and stability, installing unnecessary
applications on a server is a Bad Idea.
