Author MIDI file support with Turtle Beach Santa Cruz

I'd like to build a second Linux system. I have some 1500 .mid files, so
being able to play them is important. My first Linux system has a SB Live!
5.1DE card. It was a bear getting .mid files to play, but eventually I got
it done. I've got an extra Turtle Beach Santa Cruz card on hand. Since the
second system is only a P3 600 * 2 SMP, I'd rather not have to rely on
timidity while I've got a hardware wavetable. So how well does Linux
support the SC and how hard is it to get .mid files to play on it?
