Hi All,

I am not having too much luck with LSI's SATA Megaraid boards.
(3.5 times slower under CentOS 5 than 4.x)

Anyone have a favorite hardware SATA RAID controller, other than
LSI? Any that are VERY RHEL5/CentOS5 friendly with built in drivers?

I have both PCI-X and PCI-e slots available.

Many thanks,

I've had good luck with Areca SATA controllers, in both PCI-X and PCI
Express flavors. I've set them up under Gentoo (on AMD64, not x86), so I'd
imagine they would get along with whatever distro you want to use.

See above.

I can second the Areca recommendation. I've had one serving 4 TB of
data for 18 months with zero problems. The 3ware escalade 95xx's also
work well in my experience. I've had no problems with those either.
