I'm trying to setup e-mail alerting in Arcserve 11.0. Whatever I try, no
e-mails are being send with the backup job status. The helpfile of arcserve
is not helping me. It is clear that Arcserve needs a MAPI client to send
e-mail. I use a configured Outlook Express 6 profile for the MAPI client.

I've tried the following:
* Setup an e-mail profile in Outlook Express 6 called "BackupMail"
* Testing the e-mail profile by sending an e-mail to my hotmail adres =>
e-mail profile is working

Then I continue in Arcserve in the backup job configuration:
* In the global options I go to the Alert tab
* At Methods & Recipients Configuration I define the type of alerts I want.
I set up a broadcast alert to my PC. I also setup a SMTP alert to my e-mail
address. Finally I setup an e-mail recipient. At this point I have to select
a server (SERVER button). When I push this button, a new window asks me for
a profile name and a password. This step I don't understand. For profile
name I type "BackupMail" (as this is my Outlook Express 6 profile name), but
I don't know what to type for the asked password and keep it clear. Then I
can choose e-mail addresses from my Outlook Express addressbook. I assume
Arcsolo uses the MAPI profile correctly.

When I do a backup job test, a broadcast alert is working en telling me that
the job is finished. But an e-mail with this status is never send to me. I
cannot find any error in the Arcsolo logs or windows NT eventviewer to see
what going wrong with sending the e-mail.

Can anybody help me? Any tips or tricks to make this work?
