Author Considering Legato NetWorker - would like unbiased opinions

I am an admin for a 50+ server data center with a Dell SAN. We are
mostly a Windows shop (2000/2003) with a couple of Linux and Sun
boxes. We are also running Exchange 2000 (migrating to 2003) and SQL
2000.

I am looking for an Enterprise backup solution and my sales rep has
recommended Legato NetWorker for our environment.

I know that Legato was recently acquired by EMC but, other than that,
I have no experience with the product. I would like to get some
general opinions and success/failure stories before I consider
bringing it in for testing. Anything would be helpful.

Thanks!

It's one of the top "Enterprise" solutions. I would put it on my shortlist.
My experience with it goes back to 4.2.x, and it was fast, but had to be
watched a little too much. Back then it didn't have staging to disk with
migration to tape, but I'm sure it has it now.
If you have EMC SANs already, NW may offer some nice features for
integration, BCVs and so on.

I would also consider Veritas NetBackup, and CommVault Galaxy, maybe even
Tivoli/TSM
I'm using Galaxy now, and it's by far the least annoying product I've worked
with.
