PQ DriveImage 2002 and vfloppy.sys

Whenever I boot my computer I get an error before Windows starts loading that says:
Err5:
Error finding VFLOPPY.SYS
Err8:
Fake floppy driver not found
Press any key to boot active partition
I then press a key and the computer boots into Windows with no problem and everything seems to work fine.
I know that this is a DriveImage 2002 related problem and this started happening because of some automated overnight maintainence that went awry - windows defrag apparently completed but didn't quit and then reboot like I have it setup to do, then Nero BackItUp started but didn't do anything and then DI 2002 apparently started but did not begin creating an image at which point, by chance, I woke up, saw the whole mess and shut the computer down. I've never had any problems with my auto-maintainence before.
Anyway, I'm in no rush to try to fix this as the machine is perfectly useable as it stands right now. The only things I have done are to run a thorough scandisk (no errors) and a defrag (worked fine).
I've been searching for a solution and I've found links to the original PQ help pages for this specific problem:
http://www.powerquest.com/support/primus/id4258.cfm
http://www.powerquest.com/support/primus/id2736.cfm
http://www.powerquest.com/support/primus/id4374.cfm
Of course the links now go to the Symantec site. There is a section in the Symantec support area for DI 2002 (http://www.symantec.com/techsupp/di...2002_tasks.html) but I haven't been albe to find anything on the error message I'm getting. I'd love to be able to see those original help pages. I even tried Internet Wayback Archive Machine - no luck.
There is nothing for the error in the Error Documentation.pdf file that comes with the program either.
Some solutions I've found on the internet in various places so far include reinstalling DI 2002, repairing the MBR or installing Boot Magic and setting the delay time to zero.
I have system restore points available (I don't think this is applicable), a couple of recent PQ images and I have my PQ emergency boot disks.
While I continue to look around and mull it over I thought I'd post this and see if anyone had a thought, comment, a link or whatever.
Sorry for the long post and thanks.

You're not saying which Windows version you're using but the following
solutions are applicable:
-In case you're using Windows 9x/ME/NT 4.0 WS: run a FDISK /mbr from a
bootable Windows 98 floppy
(Get one from http://www.bootdisk.com)
-In case you're using Windows 2000/XP: Run a repair from the 2000 or XP
CD-ROM, access the Recovery Console and run a FIXMBR
(The disks can also be downloaded from http://www.bootdisk.com)

Thanks for the reply - appreciate it.
I found some more stuff including a second-hand copy of the original PQ help
pages on this problem which suggest running RESTRMBR.EXE (it's a PQ utility
that restores the MBR and is included with DI2002) from DOS first and if
that doesn't work then to use FDISK /MBR as you've suggested. This is what
I'm thinking of trying.
