Arcserve R11.1 Exchange Backup
|
|
|
| Ever since installing the R11.1 update we get an error message in the log
when Arcserve attemps to backup the Exchange database on a remote machine.
The error in the log says:
"Converting connection protocol to named pipes due to connection error."
The connection protocol is set by default to TCPIP
I can't find any reference to this error on the CA website.
Any ideas please?

Not sure about this error, but you might want to try deleting your
Exchange machine from the Arcserve systems list and let it
autorediscover and set your security again.
Just a thought.

Hey Alan,
I hate CA ....
If you want this error to go away the backup job will need to be modified. Open the job in modify, drill down to the Exchange server that is bieng backed up and select it. now there should be a link on the lower right to the connection protocol. Select it and set the protocol to named pipes resubmit the job and the error should go away.
