Ghost 9.0 will not install
|
|
|
| After apparent successful installation on my XP machine, and with the Ghost
icon in the system tray
saying Norton Ghost Ready, no part of Ghost will run. No matter which
function I try running, I get the
exact same errors.
I get 3 error screens to respond to. The first is an Information message
with an OK button. It says:
"Unable to load configuration information. File or assembly name
60yfn04.dll, or one of its
dependencies, was not found."
(Every time I try to run it, the dll in the message is different, and seems
to be randomly generated.
I'm sure it is NOT a valid dll).
After I click OK, the second message is an Error message with an OK button.
It says "Error creating view.
The view is not installed correctly".
When I click OK, the 3rd message is a Microsoft .NET framework error. It
says:
"An unhandled exception has occurred in your application. If you click
Continue, the application will
ignore this error and attempt to continue. If you click Quit, the
application will be shut down immediately."
"Object reference not set to an instance of an object".
If I click on Details, I get about 15 pages of technical details. If I click
on Continue, the Ghost V2i Console
comes up, but it is completely blank, and does not function.
I have captured screen shots of these error screens anybody wants to see
them.
I have uninstalled Ghost and reinstalled it with exactly the same results. I
installed it with no other
programs running, including disabling both Norton Security and Antivirus.
After uninstalling Ghost, I
have then gone through the register and deleted all references to Ghost
prior to reinstalling. I have
even followed Symantec's Service Pack 2 Instructions, but it has not made
any difference. Every time I install
it, there is no change. It installs fine. However, when attempting to run,
it still gives me the same errors, and does not run, although it installs OK
and there are no installation error messages.
Any ideas or suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
