Hello, All (hi, Michael Kimmer!)

On acquiring DI7 6-7-04 I was unable to get the "BackUp Jobs" and other right-side
of screen menu info to display on Drive Image 7.03. (I didn't even know there was
such a thing until prompted to look for the "Backup Jobs" tab!) Finally, 7-21-04, I
called tech support 800 757 5049, and was informed that this was a known problem.

Over the phone, I uninstalled Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 (pre-installed by Dell
when the PC was acquired 4/04). Then, Microsoft .NET Framework (English) v1.0.3705,
the version shipped on the DI7 "PQRE" disk, was installed in its place. I also
uninstalled DI7, deleted Preferences.xml file and some other stuff, reinstalled DI7,
repatched to 7.03. Etc.

When 1.1 was dumped in favor of the older version, the Tech told me not to worry
about reverting to an old version, since "no other app is likely to call MS .NET
Framework apart from DI7" -- this seemed extravagant, but, I needed to see the menu!

And, indeed, since then, everything has displayed properly, with no problems
elsewhere.

I find today, 12-16-04, that there is an update "Microsoft .NET Framework 1.0
Service Pack 3." I searched the info on the update, but it doesn't mention any
display-related fixes, and so I had to pass on selecting it. But the situation is
weird.

Has anyone else encountered this "1.1 = no full DI7 menu display" problem? If so,
did you have to revert to the DI7 disk's older version?

And what's the deal with the nomenclature/numbering scheme? "Microsoft .NET
Framework version 1.1" is what I recall from the Control Panel | Add/Remove list for
NET Framework (relying on memory alone here). But the latest update is to 1.0?!

My brain hurts,

Many thanks

Travis
