Which is better Nero BackItUp or Stomp Backup MyPC?

| In your opinion, which is better for backing up files to DVD+R, Nero
BackItUp or Stomp Backup MyPC? Thank you in advance for all
replies.

I am TERRIBLY cruel to my cat. I tease him with a vine tendril
until he either jumps up in the air to bat at it or zooms around
in a circle until he gets too dizzy to stand up. What is cruel about
it is that I don't do it nearly as much as he wants me to.

And you can get it for free too.
Just buy a Maxtor OneTouch USB or Firewire external HDD and it is
included in the package....

Best to use retail version.
AFAIK, having the OEM version qualifies one for the upgrade version.

I tried this program without any success. My Sony DRU-540A isn't on their
list of supported drives. I attempted to use their program to test this
drive, but is went into a loop of remove and replace the disc. This went on
for about an hour before I decided to heck with it. Each media has to be
tested this way before Retrospect is suppose to copy to the disc. Dantz
needs to better support this program and test some of the newer drives.
Backup MyPC picked up on the DVD-R media quickly and without a problem.

Yes, I understand that, but it does what I want - backs up to my
Maxtor Series II 300G external USB2 HDD. What it doesn't do, that the
full version does, is backup over a network.
I like Retrospect - very little user input needed to set up and it
does automatic scheduled incremental backups very quickly, and you can
use the computer while it backs up too.
The only thing I don't like is the procedure needed to fully restore
if the main HDD fails and is replaced - you have to reinstall XP and
SP2 and Retrospect before you can restore from the backup. So I still
have a FAT32 partition on the external HDD to which every now and then
I do a Norton Ghost Image as well, just in case, so I can restore the
new HDD easily from that, then update to the latest using Retrospect!

| Retrospect allows you to make a restore CD that does not require you to
separately re-install the OS.
Perhaps the OEM version does not have this feature?
If so, that is sufficient reason to get the retail version.

| You may have been using a version of BUMP that was created after the version
of Retrospect you used.
Every few months, Retrospect gets an update that adds more drives.
