Author Seagate "One Touch" External Drive: Other Backup Software Support?

Hi,

I have a Seagate 160GByte external drive, the one with the 'pushbutton'
backup feature. The drive is packaged with a lite version of BounceBack.
Pushing a button on the front of the drive invokes BounceBack and begins
the backup process. Furthermore, BouncBack communicates with the drive: a
red-light on the drive flases during backup.

Are there other types of backup software that will respond to the backup
button on the drive, and also light the drive 'backup in progress' light on
the drive, or an I stuck with BounceBack?

Thanks,

Some other one-touch drives come with Retrospect.

IMHO, the one-touch feature is not useful unless it allows one to create the
script to be used.
At least that's what I think of that feature on Maxtor's 5000LE USB drive.

First thing I do after buying a one-touch drive is format it...and then rely on
Retrospect scripts to do my backups.

I use my own scripts from the Run menu in Retrospect.

Same here - saved as .rrr "shortcuts" which, I guess if I took the time to
figure out how, could be scheduled via Windows' scheduler.

Don't believe in scheduler.
Now that I back up to hard drives, I often run a Normal backup more than
once per day, e.g., when I run out to do errands, or am eating a meal, or
watching the idiot box. Lot more convenient than tape.
