Using the Multi Server Open Option Suite
in 8.5 , every job status says "failed", yet the
byte count displays xxx, xxx, xxx # of bytes.
Backing up to an internal HP SCSI T400S
for three networked PC's.

When I do a test recover by selecting
a small file and restoring it to its
original location, the file is always
on the tape.
Should I be worried about the failure status?

Have a look through the job log for one of the backups (right click the
backup job, properties, job log), and you'll see a mass of information about
the data which has been backed up. Somewhere within the information you will
see a row of about 4 '^'s (carats), which are immediately below the line of
the log which tells you the actual reason for the backup failure. That
should give you a better idea of what is happening, and from there if the
information that is not being backed up is something you are worried about
or not.
