| Backup Now! Deluxe version 3 seems to have the same error as previous
versions.
I haven't been able to find an answer online but I have a problem that
the software will not automatically resolve. I have seen only one other
post with a similar problem with an older version of Backup Now!.
"Operation with error. Code=1005. Illegal
request"
This comes up when I use a disc that needs to have a full erase as
opposed to a quick erase.
I have two DVD+RW drives to work with on this PC.
First Drive: NEC ND-1100A
Second Drive: Lite-On LDW-851S
the older NEC drive seems to fail at any attempt to FULL ERASE a disc.
For some reason it will not detect the disc. The newer Lite-On drive
does the job ok.
As far as I can see, a Full Erase is needed outside of the backup
operation. Otherwise, the backup utility may abort since it will not
recognize the disc in a particular drive that has trouble fully erasing
a disc.
Lesson to Learn: Check disc before using. FULL ERASE where necessary
before using. Automatic Backups still aren't so "automatic"
-regards

p.s.
The full and quick erase operations were all conducted through the NTI
Backup Application using the CD Functions under the TOOLS menu.
