I have to do a backup mirror (software) from HardDisk 1 to HardDisk2 (on the
same PC). What are the differences between DriveCopy (it exists still ?),
Drive Image and Norton Ghost ?
What is the best ?

Thanks
Sorry for my English

Paolo

They are completely different things and neither aren't backup software..
Drive Image is sector based imaging soft, works in windows.
Ghost is file based imaging soft, works in DOS.

Yes, I am sure - Symantec Ghost is native 16bit DOS application, it can use
int25/26h, int13h,
int13h Extension or integrated DMA drivers, altough DMA isn't available
alway. Specialized to work with files, it can set to work with sectors but
it's not clusters allocation aware. It isn't backup software - it can't make
incermental backups but only images. It's good soft for service works,
but not for regular security.

You must read manual once more time and try its work in reality.
What you think - why it wants to restart while image creation. It just makes
temporary
partition inside your stand-alone partition, boots to Dos from this
partition and then restores
your partition table.
In manual:
-----------8<--------------------
12 Select one of the following:

? Run Now: Creates the backup image file.

Your computer is restarted and the backup image file is created.
